28 August 2010, Kuala Lumpur – At the end of the gruelling seven round Swiss rapids, GM Iuldachev Saidali of Uzbekistan won the individual rapids with 6.5 points. In second place was GM Schebler Gerhard of Germany with 6 points, and in third place was FM Nicholas Chan of Malaysia with 6 pts. In fourth position was Vakhidov Jahongir of Uzbekistan with 6 pts, too!

A total of 107 players registered and participated today for the Merdeka Individual Rapid, a number beyond the organisers’ imagination.
