DATMO 2009, Round 1, 22.8.09
Analysed by Hairulov and Rybka 3
1. e4 c5 2. Nc3 a6 3. g3 b5 4. Bg2 Bb7 5. f4 e6 6. d3
b4 7. Nce2 f5 8. Nh3 Nf6 9. Nf2 Be7 10. O-O O-O 11. c4 bxc3 12. bxc3 d5 13. Rb1
Bc6 14. Qc2 Nbd7 15. Be3 Nb6 16. Rfe1 16. e5 Nfd7 17. Bh3 followed by g4 is an interesting option 16... Rc8 17. h3 Kh8 18. Kh2 Qc7 19. g4 Maybe white should close the centre with 19. e5 first before playing g4 19... dxe4 20. dxe4 Nc4 21. Bc1 fxe4 22. Nxe4 Rcd8 23. N2g3 Nd5 24. Qe2
24...Na3! At first my sillicon friend- Rybka 3 didn't even consider this move . The monster prefer 24...Na5 instead but after spending some time - Rybka change his evaluation and gave 24...Na3 as the main line. 25. Bxa3 With hindsight, it's better to declined the sacrifiece with 25. Rb3 Bb5 26.Qf2 Nc4 27.f5 25...Nxf4 26. Qc2 Bh4 27. Re3 Alternative is 27. Bxc5 Nxg2
28. Qxg2 (28. Bxf8 Nxe1 29. Bxg7+ Kxg7 30. Rxe1 Bxe4) 28... Bxe4 29. Rxe4 Qxc5
However black is still better.27... Nxg2 28. Qxg2 Bxe4 29. Qxe4 29. Rxe4 ??
Bxg3+ 30. Qxg3 Rf2+ It's mate in 3! 29... Bxg3+ 30. Kh1 30.
Rxg3? Rf2+ 30... Rd2
Defending Champion - Li Chao (left) after playing 30...Rd2 against Amir Mohammadi
31. Re2 Rxe2 32. Qxe2 Bf2 33. Qe4 h6 Li Chao is clearly winning so he probably want to avoid any back rank mate. 33... Qg3 Is better but black is winning anyway. 34. Rf1 Qg3 35. Qg2 Qxc3 36. Bc1 Kg8 37. g5 Rf3 38. Kh2 Qe5+ 39. Kh1 Qf5 0-1 White will lose after 40. Kh2 Bg3+ 41. Kg1 Rxf1+ 42. Qxf1 Qc2 43. Qf3 Qxc1+
